MCR-550

Top-Class Analogue Amplifier

Incorporating an analogue power supply (transformer) for minimal switching noise, and an independent earth circuit for low impedance, the CRX-550 is a high performance amplifier designed for exceptionally fine HiFi music quality.

High Quality Parts, Short Signal Routing

The CRX-550 uses extremely high quality parts including custom-made block capacitors, a high-grade Burr-Brown DAC and large speaker terminals, which make a significant difference in audio performance. The audio signal path is painstakingly laid out to be as short as possible, greatly reducing the chance of electromagnetic interference.

iPod Digital Connection Improves Sound Quality

iPod digital connection means that the digital signal from the iPod is transmitted directly to the CD Receiver, minimising noise interference and allowing use of the CRX-550 DAC, rather than the iPod DAC. This results in more precise sound reproduction.

Advanced Signal Processing

The Music Enhancer restores data lost during MP3 and WMA compression, so the music is heard in its original dynamic state. Bit data expansion increases CD 16-bit data to 24 bits, achieving more natural and detailed sound.

Benefits from Yamaha Soavo Expertise

While the design is unique, the NS-BP200 two-way, bass-reflex speaker incorporates a number of the advanced construction techniques used for Yamaha’s high-end Soavo series. The cabinet features precision assembly of the baffle and body, with 6-point reinforcement for high stiffness.

Fast Sound Attack, Highly Detailed Sound

The NS-BP200 does not have magnetic shielding, which tends to reduce the speed of initial sound attack, while the voice coil, network and other key components were selected for high performance with minimal size. All sounds, including bass, are crisp, clear and highly detailed.

Deeper, Strongly Bonded Cabinet

The cabinet depth is greater than Yamaha’s previous compact speakers, improving bass output capability. Bonding is done with the same materials and techniques used for Yamaha’s wooden musical instruments.

Strong, Resonant Cabinet with Three Feet

The overall strength of the cabinet as well as its resonant properties owe a great deal to the construction methods used for Yamaha violins and guitars, known for their rich sound quality. Three feet in a triangle pattern improve stability and vibration damping.
