DXR Systems – Touring Intelligence in Portable Loudspeakers

DXR Systems – Touring Intelligence in Portable Loudspeakers

Let’s say you’re playing in a small acoustic combo, looking for a really good sounding PA system for the use in various locations. The PA market is full of different offerings for all kinds of purposes but hard to survey without professional knowledge.

The only thing you know is: We need an excellent sounding PA which is also lightweight for comfortable transportation, easy to setup even by non-professionals, flexible to use for adapting to various locations and, last but not least, good looking!

After all, you’re spending a lot of time and money on your hobby and of course you want to get the best solution for all these efforts.

We have something for you...the Yamaha DXR series – powered loudspeakers, equipped with highly professional features, yet still easy and intuitive to use. The lineup comprises 8’’ to 15’’ speakers, so you can individually assemble your very own PA system. For an acoustic combo two of the 12-inch DXR12 will fit your needs. And don’t mind – you can also add a subwoofer to the DXR speakers - but let’s talk about this later.

What are the benefits you’ll get from the DXR series?

What are the benefits you’ll get from the DXR series?

Powered

1. First of all, the DXR speakers are Powered Speakers. There’s no need for a heavy external power amplifier – everything you need is your instrument/microphone, a cable and a standard power source.

Durability

2. The DXR speakers are made for daily use on the road because of its rugged ABS enclosures, the heavy-duty steel grille and some ergonomic, gripped aluminum handles for easy transportation to your venue and stage.

Flexibility

Let’s say you play one gig every weekend. So you’ll have to face a lot of different spatial conditions – from tiny bars with nooks and crannies to larger venues, maybe at a wedding or a small outdoor festival in the city. With the dual angle pole mount socket you can adjust your speakers straight ahead or angled to the ceiling depending on where your audience is placed. For even more flexibility you can use the integrated rigging points in combination with the optional Yamaha U-brackets for safely flying the speakers in both horizontal and vertical configurations.

Versatility

Maybe your band consists of three instruments: vocals, acoustic guitar 1, acoustic guitar 2 (or perhaps a stage piano). The DXR12 features a 3-channel onboard mixer. If you don’t have a dedicated FOH guy who’s mixing your sound you can play completely on your own – just plug in your cables to the DXR12 and turn the level knobs for each channel to get your band mix working!

Automatic

The DXR series features internal DSP processing which means you’ll have a digital partner, who performs some important tasks on your behalf. You need to play very loud for a wide audience but still want a clear and pristine sound? Without going into excessive details: The FIR-X tuning and the D-CONTOUR circuitry help you to get the best sound out of the DXR speakers – automatically!

Powerful

Didn’t we mention it yet? The DXR12 powered speaker features 1100W of power, producing an impressive SPL up to 133dB...no worries to get in trouble with sound pressure level...
