Yamaha Welcomes the Latest Addition to the Neo Family
At this year’s Musikmesse, Yamaha has unveiled the much anticipated YBH-831 Neo baritone that was designed under the expert guidance of world renowned baritone horn player Katrina Marzella.
The result of years of painstaking development, Yamaha and Katrina have ensured that baritone players around the world will get an instrument that can perform at the highest level.
With the project starting in 2010, the YBH-831 represents a new level of excellence for baritone horns and follows in the footsteps of other significant releases in the Neo range.
To ensure that the instrument would perform to the highest level, the new Neo baritone was put to the test in some of the most pressurised banding environments and in some of the most esteemed concert halls in the world. Used by Katrina for performances at competitions such as the finals of the prestigious National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain and at the European Brass Band Championships, the Neo baritone passed these tests with flying colours. Completely redesigned, the Neo baritone benefits from a newly designed ‘slim’ valve casing that gives players a natural posture and comfortable hand position.
The improved body taper design gives a rich and full sound perfect for both solo and band performances and the new lead-pipe design gives the instrument a well-balanced resistance enabling players to give express exactly what they want to.
