Mariam Batsashvili wins 10th Liszt Competition with Yamaha CFX Concert Grand Piano

The acclaimed young Georgian pianist Mariam Batsashvili has won the prestigious 10th International Liszt Competition held earlier this month (10 November).

Founded in 1986, the International Liszt Competition is held every three years in Utrecht, the Netherlands and is devoted to the piano works of Franz Liszt.

Mariam Batsashvili selected the Yamaha CFX for both her final performances which included a solo recital round and a piano concerto round. Her selection marking yet another major international and highly significant success for CFX.

Open to pianists between the ages of 17 and 29, the International Liszt Competition has become one of the world's most significant piano competitions, well known for the professional support it offers laureates. In addition to a prize of €50,000 Mariam will now receive extensive support from the competition organisers including international performance opportunities.

The event acts as a major career development milestone and is supported by many influential professional pianists, and dignitaries, this year’s competition was attended by Queen Máxima of the Netherlands.
