Jean-Yves Fourmeau invited to Arosa Music Academy 2014


Designed especially for talented young musicians, students from all over the world attend to learn from some of the world’s leading artists and educators.

The masterclasses that are provided pay particular attention to technique and interpretation and there are also opportunities to study Chamber music and join in-house concerts, all of which, further enhance this unique academy’s experience.

Jean-Yves Fourmeau is a first-class classical saxophone artist who is the professor at Cergy-Pontoise Conservatory.

Having studied saxophone with Daniel Deffayet at Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Dance de Paris (CNSM), Jean-Yves graduated top of the class at the age of only 17, an unprecedented achievement at that time.

Awarded second prize at the Gap International Saxophone Competition in France (no first prize was awarded), to this date, he maintains an active solo career and has performed with many orchestras across the world and was the saxophone soloist for the Berliner Philharmoniker and Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.

In the studio, he has recorded a total of 14 CDs during his career. As an educator, he is the professor at Cergy-Pontoise Conservatory having been professor at Indiana University, USA, from 2000 to 2001.
