Yamaha Silent Sessions presents HJ Lim

From the tranquillity of candlelight to the sparkle of daybreak, Yamaha proudly presents an exclusive live video of rising classical piano phenomenon HJ Lim, performing silently on the deck of a floating barge on London’s Regent’s Canal, with just the latest Yamaha Silent SH grand acoustic piano and a pair of headphones for company.

This unique film perfectly sets music in motion to capture both sides of the Yamaha Silent experience, the sound of silence and the sound the pianist hears; in this case that of the breath-taking and critically acclaimed performer and recording artist HJ Lim.

HJ's Silent Piano performance of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No.2 is the latest video of Yamaha’s new ‘Silent Sessions’ series, that debuted with Jamie Cullum and has been introduced to celebrate the launch of Yamaha’s all new range of 'Silent' SH upright and grand acoustic pianos, which represent the most significant technological advances for Pianists since the introduction of the award-winning silent concept by Yamaha in 1993.

HJ LIM records exclusively for EMI Classics. HJ is the youngest interpreter to ever record Beethoven’s complete Piano Sonatas and the first and only classical pianist to debut at number one on the Billboard classical chart and the iTunes chart. HJ Lim’s next release on EMI will be a Ravel and Scriabin recital album.
