Don’t Miss The Legendary Bobby Shew in Europe this March!


With a wealth of experience as a performer and an educationalist, Bobby’s tour is an opportunity for trumpet players to get see and hear first-hand the inspirational Bobby Shew.


During his time in Europe Bobby will have a hectic schedule visiting France, Germany, Norway, the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Norway and  Sweden.


Over the years Bobby has performed with a number of groups whilst also being a band leader himself. He has performed with Art Pepper, Bud Shank, Horace Silver Quintet, and Frank Strazzeri-Sam Most, as well as numerous big bands such as Bill Holman, Louie Bellson, Toshiko Akiyoshi-Lew Tabackin, Oliver Nelson, Bill Berry, Nat Pierce-Frank Capp Juggernaut, Ed Shaughnessy, Terry Gibbs, Benny Goodman, Maynard Ferguson, Neal Hefti, Don Menza, and Bob Florence.


As a band leader he has recorded several albums with one of his albums, 'Outstanding In His Field' being nominated for a Grammy in 1980, while, 'Heavy Company' was awarded the Jazz Album Of The Year in 1983 by the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ). Bobby is also in high demand in the studio and has recorded for a number of iconic TV programmes and film soundtracks such as 'Hawaii 5-O', 'Happy Days', 'Laverne And Shirley', 'Eight Is Enough', 'Grease I and II', 'Rocky I and II', 'Six-Pack', 'The Muppet Movie', 'The Drivers', and 'Taxi'.


Still a busy performing artist and private teacher, Bobby dedicates a huge amount of time to working in the educational system. A highly regarded clinician, Bobby is an inspirational teacher and spends a considerable amount of time giving master-classes in high schools and colleges all over the world.


A Yamaha endorsee for a number of years his visit to Europe will no doubt help to inspire the next generation of jazz players and teachers in Europe.
