Statement about your relation with Yamaha or your instrument:

The Yamaha 5100A marimba is more than just an instrument—it's a partner in expression. Its rich tones and exceptional craftsmanship allow me to bring my music to life with precision and warmth. Playing it feels like a dialogue, where every note resonates with clarity and emotion, making it an indispensable part of my artistic journey.

How does your instrument help you in your daily life as an artist?

My Yamaha 5100A marimba is an essential part of my daily life as an artist. Its consistent quality and rich sound inspire creativity during practice and performance. It provides a reliable platform to express emotions, and refine my artistry. Whether I'm preparing for a concert, composing or recording, it serves as both a tool and a source of inspiration, helping me connect deeply with my music and audience.

How would you characterise your instrument?

I would characterize my Yamaha 5100A marimba as a perfect blend of precision and warmth. Its resonant, full-bodied tone captures the depth and nuance of every note, while its exceptional craftsmanship ensures reliability and durability. The instrument responds beautifully to dynamic expressions, allowing both delicate subtlety and powerful projection.

Who was your most influential teacher and is there any advice which you still follow?

My most influential teacher and greatest mentor has been Jean Geoffroy. His guidance shaped my approach to music as an art form. One piece of advice he gave me that I carry with me every day is to always stay curious and open to the music—let it guide you and be unafraid to explore its depths.

Advice for a young musician:

Be patient and consistent in your efforts. Treat yourself and those around you with kindness and lightness; the journey is as important as the destination. And remember, you don’t have to listen to everything you hear—trust your instincts and stay true to your own path.
