MUSIKMESSE 2014 - Yamaha’s New Timpani Range Take Centre Stage at Musikmesse 2014

At this year’s Musikmesse, Yamaha has unveiled the next generation of its world renowned timpani range.
The completely re-designed frame allows the bowl to float and ring freely with maximum sustain. It ensures reliable, long term operation for all TP4300, TP6300 and TP-7300 series.

During the design process, special attention was given to the bowl with the emphasis on consistency and giving each new series a deep, rich tone. Benefiting from a new caster design, the new and improved mechanics allow an array of position options and smooth, reliable pedal operation. The 4300 Series has a firm tone core and improved sustain that allows younger players to easily identify pitch and keep constant tone throughout a performance.

Light in weight due to its aluminium bowl, the 4300 Series is perfect for schools where a versatile sound and easy manoeuvrability are of high importance. The 6300 Series is the first model in Yamaha’s timpani range that has a copper bowl. By using this material it means that these instruments can offer a higher level of performance possibilities and great value for money. Benefitting from the new caster design, its deep and full bodied sound is ideal for wind bands, brass bands and community orchestras and is great for both the rehearsal room and the stage.

Yamaha’s new 7300 Series timpani offers players the ability to create a natural warmth and depth to the sound quality. With a specially designed machine made specifically for hammering timpani, the 7300 includes the innovative new Pedal Adjustment Clutch (PAC) that allows players to quickly and easily adjust the pedal’s feel. With a rich spectrum of overtones, the 7300 Series has been designed to meet the needs of even the most demanding musician. These new ranges of timpani represent a significant step forward in timpani design. The features and benefits that have been incorporated gives players a wide choice of timpani to choose from to fulfil the varying needs of today’s timpanists.
