Benedikt Brynleifsson

One of the busiest drummers in Iceland. Playing professionally for over 25 years, he has played with most of the top artists in Iceland, including Björgvin Halldórsson, Mannakorn, Páll Óskar, Todmobile, SSSól, KK and many more. Benedikt has a wide experience when it comes to studio and live performances. He has been the drummer on a series of the IDOL and all X- Factor shows in Iceland.
In the recording studio, Benedikt has played on countless records and singles and is highly sought after for sessions of all kinds. He has participated twice in the Eurovision Song Contest. First 2007 in Helsinki and in 2011 with "Sjonni’s friends" in Düsseldorf as a lead artist. Benedikt also went with the duet "Euroband" to Serbia 2008 as a session player in their live band.
Currently, Benedikt is busy recording the third season of a popular music TV series for Stöð 2, one of the biggest TV stations in Iceland. Benedikt is on tour with the legendary jazz/fusion band Mezzoforte. Formed in 1977, and with the hit single “Garden Party” among other hits, the band has toured the world until this day and will continue that path. New music is also planned for the band this year.
