About Silent Basses

The double bass is an instrument that adds depth to music, keeps rhythm, and performs the baseline of music. The Silent Bass is easier to transport than an acoustic one, and can be played any time and anywhere.
Double bass, the largest stringed instrument for the lowest notes
The largest and lowest pitched bowed string instrument. The double bass, the strings and bow of which are also the largest of all the stringed instruments, has had a great impact on the entire orchestra in playing music. It is an essential instrument for adding energy, a dignified mood, and rhythmic support for musical performances. It is also a fascinating instrument that weaves a melody with its tone like a singer with a low range. Although most people tend to think the double bass is rarely used as a solo instrument, it actually has more than 200 repertoires, including concertos. In jazz, it plays a major role in providing the pulse or rhythm for a tune and often performs the solo part.
The double bass has continued to change in the size and structure until the present day, through long years of research. Currently, it usually has notes one octave lower than the cello, with the four or five strings tuned in fourths. Double bassists have the option to either stand or sit on a tall stool while playing the instrument, because the total height is far beyond an adult's height.
The compact body is easier to transport!
Though it is usually difficult to transport the double bass due to the body measuring almost two metres in length, our Silent Bass models feature detachable frames, ensuring outstanding portability. For example, the size of SLB-100 can be reduced to about 40% of the usual double bass. Also, since the double bass is favoured in jazz and popular music bands as well as classical music, a model for live stage performances like SLB-200 will win the hearts of bassists in such bands. (SLB-200, a unique hollow body with some resonant parts, provides you with a feeling closer to the acoustic double bass.)
