The CSM1405A delivers a crisp sound with its 5-inch, 6-ply maple shell. The drum comes with two types of snares; a stainless steel coiled wire snare (standard) and a stainless straight cable snare (supplied), and can be used with either. The stainless steel coiled wire snare offers less resonance and is well suited for classical, march, popular and other such styles. The straight cable snare has a clear sound and delivers excellent performance especially in halls that have long reverberation lengths or when playing intricate rhythms in an orchestral setting. Changing snares is quite easy so both should be tried.
