ART Pickups
The Acoustic Resonance Transducer (ART) pickup system is designed to be the ultimate acoustic pickup – to provide the natural tone, dynamic range and accurate control necessary to truly reproduce the tone of an acoustic guitar. Purpose-specific, custom built pickup sensors perfectly balance dynamic range and feedback rejection while the contact-sensor design gives a more natural, balanced tone that the ‘string-only’ sound so common with conventional piezo systems.
Multi-way configurations offer separate pickups specifically for bass or treble, giving much more natural sound than adjustment using EQ, and the latest preamp technologies provide accurate, stage-ready control.

Designed to be played live, every detail of our electro-acoustics is designed with the player in mind. From preamps with well-spaced controls, easy to use on the darkest stage, to dual strap buttons, easy access battery compartments and on-board tuners nothing is left wanting.

These are high quality acoustic guitars featuring tops made from select pieces of spruce on bodies and backs of flamed maple. Their thin bodies and cutaways that provide greater access to the upper frets, offer smoother switching between electric and acoustic instruments. The FGX series are the acoustic-electric version of the FG series. Traits inherited from the L-series such as non-scalloped X bracing and reverse-L block neck attachment, have made it an instrument of high quality. Its clear, bright tone is just at home playing accompaniment as it is playing lead, and an on-board 3-band equalizer with an adjustable mid-range frequency offers superior tone tailoring.

Outstanding tonal balance and smaller dimensions are some of the reasons that make the acoustic-electric version of the LS series popular among finger style guitarists. Acoustically, the instrument produces excellent volume, but it is also equipped with the latest A.R.T. 3-way pickup systems (System60) that offers control of overtones and resonance for high quality sound amplification. Tops on the LSX36C and LSX26C feature Yamaha's A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) technology which delivers a matured tone right from factory.
