Serious about your music without the serious budget!
The MOTIF sound is more accessible than ever before now that Yamaha has ported across high performance sounds and professional functionality into the new, affordable MX music production synths.
Yamaha's Claus Kruse explains, "All you need is an idea and the MX synth to start creating great pro-quality tracks and grooves. Professional 'MOTIF' sounds, highly sophisticated editing functionality, powerful on-board software integration – all combined in the most affordable, professionally capable music production product Yamaha have ever created."
To make the MX49 and MX61 even more of a mouth watering proposition for prospective home producers and music technology enthusiasts Yamaha are keen to emphasise that you don't have to be a great player to make great music. Thanks to the layout, functions and ease of use, you really only need creative vision to be able to make great music on the MX straight out of the box.
What makes the new MX49 (49-note keyboard) and MX61 (61 notes) so special is Yamaha's unique ability to integrate the sounds and functionality of their top-end pro kit into highly affordable units without compromising on the key features that lie at the heart of the pro gear.
For example, the new MX models are powered by sounds taken from Yamaha's flagship MOTIF range of workstations. There are over 1300 voices packed into these compact and lightweight units (the MX49 weighs in at just 3.8 kilos). This combines with a brilliantly thought out user interface conceived specifically for first-time users; no jargon, no 6-layer split screens, just one intuitive screen and one set of controls. MX does not frustrate your creativity – it inspires it!
Both models come bundled with a range of software including Cubase AI6 and Prologue, plus more. These options bring easy-to-navigate professional recording options to your fingertips. Interfacing the MX to computers could not be simpler as all this power and expandability revolves round just one USB cable, immediately turning the MX into a highly sophisticated audio and MIDI interface. The MX also functions as a remote control device for virtual software synths, and Yamaha have helpfully included a newly designed editor so you can dig deep into the nuances of the MX sound engine.
The pro-action keyboards can be easily split and layered and, for even more sonic power and potential, the MXs can play back audio from a USB stick so you can experiment and perform with tracks already produced using your computer and DAW software.
We'll leave the last word to Claus Kruse, "In todays music making culture, the lines between producer, musician and DJ are all very blurred. The MX offers a one stop solution that lets you forget about which pigeon hole you fall into and allows you to focus on being creative wherever and whatever you are. As an instrument its portable, affordable and full of inspiration.
The MX is way more than just another music synthesizer, it's a complete music production solution."
