Billy Sheehan has changed the way bass guitar is played. Rising to cult status in the 80's with his Buffalo, NY based band Talas, Billy was recruited by David Lee Roth when Roth left Van Halen in '85. He recorded two platinum selling albums with the former Van Halen front man before setting out on his own. Forming Mr.Big in 1989, the band achieved #1 single 15 countries with "To Be With You".

While developing his trademark style of playing he has performed over 4000 live gigs on every continent except Africa and Antarctica.

Billy has always shared experiences from his gigs with the Yamaha Bass Guitar craftsmen and supported the development of the Yamaha BB series, out of which his own “Attitude” models have been created.

With the current “Attitude III” Yamaha offers an exact replica of the bass that Billy Sheehan has designed and plays exclusively live or studio. Every “Attitude III” is built by our experienced guitar/bass craftsmen in Japan according to Billy´s high demands to quality and sound.

In the following video (part 1 of 4) Billy visits the Yamaha factory in Japan and gives insight on how his bass is built and which features separate his model from other basses. Enjoy!
