
From the 10th to the 16th of November the international renown Yamaha Artist Nobuya Sugawa will be in Europe, to give masterclasses and concerts. The classical saxophone player will have a concert with Quatuor Fourmeau in Paris. More masterclasses and concerts will take place in the Royal College of Music, London and the Conservatory in Madrid. On Saturday, the 14th of November Sugawa visits the Jazzinstitut Berlin for a lecture. On the ensuing days he will be at Musikhochschule Cologne and Wuerzburg. In concert he will be accompanied by the pianist Azumi Nishizawa.
Mr. Sugawa graduated from Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music. In 1982 he won second prize (no first place award) at the Japan Music Competition and the following year won first prize at the Japan Wind and Percussion Competition. He is the concertmaster of the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra. He also founded the saxophone quartet "Trouvere Quartet".His current musical instruments include the YAS-875EXG alto saxophone and YSS-875EXG soprano saxophone.
